About us

Legal requirements

The Fire Safety Regulations (2010) Northern Ireland states that it is the duty of the appropriate person to ensure they “equip the building with fire-fighting equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers..)” and that these items “are subject to a suitable system of maintenance”. This should be carried out by an appropriately trained and certified technician to meet the service requirements under current British Standard. The commissioning, location, size, type and annual testing of fire extinguishers in your business property should be appropriate and correct ensuring compliance with both British Standards and Fire Safety Regulations, forming an integral part of your Fire Risk Assessment to satisfy insurance needs.
